Help a Hero

UPDATE #2: Thank you all for your continued prayers.  Jeff is making huge strides toward his recovery.  In the last couple of weeks he has been able to stand, walk, and even eat.  He is now off the ventilator and breathing on his own with minimal supplemental oxygen.  We are hopeful he will soon be well enough to be transferred to Florida.  It is still unclear what the coming weeks will bring, but at this rate, we are optimistic that Jeff will be back in Florida soon, maybe even in time for his 50th birthday!   Jeff is aware and grateful of your contributions.  However, his paid leave at work will end within the next few weeks, and Andi is unable to return to work full time.  Please continue to spread the word so we can ensure they do not have to worry about finances at this time.  We want their focus to be on Jeff's recovery and uniting their family.  Please feel free to reach out to me privately if there are other ways you are able and willing to contribute.  We will also start another meal delivery once Jeff is home so Andi won't have to worry about the little stuff.  

ORIGINAL POST:  Hi, I am Paula Post. My sister, her husband and their son were on what was supposed to be an epic vacation. Like a lot of us, they wanted to make up for not being able to travel during 2020. While on vacation they all contracted Covid. My sister and her husband ended up being admitted to UT Medical Center, Knoxville with Covid and pneumonia. With no family in the area it has been a challenge to give them support from so far away.  Andrea was in the hospital for 11 days and is still recovering.  Jeff, my brother in law, has been on life support since July 26th.  He patriotically served in the U.S. Army and has spent the last 20 years protecting our country with Department of Homeland Security.  My sister is a hard-working and devoted wife and mother. She is the first to help anyone in need. Now I am hopeful we can help her.  She is having to take disability and is travelling back and forth between Florida and Tennessee.  There are numerous costs associated with traveling, lodging and related expenses.  Our hope is that Jeff will get to a point in the coming weeks that we can also get a medical transport home to Tampa.  

The family has been lifted up by the countless prayers and support of so many loved ones and strangers.  Please keep Jeff and the family in your prayers.  We believe God is sustaining Jeff's family through this time and is healing Jeff's body from this horrible virus.
