Hey everyone... okay, so here's the deal.
A very dear friend of mine, Hector Salomon, was diagnosed with Lymphoma in mid November. Surprisingly, it went undiagnosed for years because he lives a very active, healthy life. After having some issues with some erratic chest pain he decided to get some further testing, and to a devastating discovery, they found a massive tumor that spanned the entire length of his torso. Naturally, he was immediately hospitalized and has been battling this since the second he was admitted. (There is some good news however. He has already gone through a few, long, aggressive phases of chemotherapy and his body is responding very favorably to the chemo and the tumor is shrinking.)
Anyway, Hector is a very prideful, hard working, honest person and would never ask anyone for anything, that is why I am doing this without his knowledge. I am the kind of person who would rather ask for forgiveness than for permission. (let's hope he doesn't too get angry with me for putting his story out there) :)
Anyway, he hasn't been able to work since the moment he was admitted and they are informing him he wont be able to go back to work until at least this coming summer, being that they will be able to remove everything successfully by that time frame. So, here I am... Let's help him. His deductable is 6,000 a year, and naturally, since he was diagnosed and admitted in mid November (6 weeks ago), it starts all over January 1st. So, he is already 12,000 in, and that's just his deductable, and when you can't work, the bills pile up quickly and the bank account goes very fast. :(
Cancer is a bitch, so let's help Hector beat it by taking away an unnecessary added stress that he doesn't need. Let's help him not worry about some of those bills.
Anything helps. 1 dollar, 5 dollars, 10, 20, 50, 100, anything.. and even if you can't help monetarily, which is totally okay because we all have our own lives, worries, and bills to cover, you can still help by posting this on your wall and help me get his story out there. I thank you all in advance for you help and support, and I am more than sure Hector will be even more grateful.
I set the goal at 12,000 to help cover his deductable, but with your help let's hope his story gets out there and we can exceed that limit to help him cover some of his costs of living too. So I ask you all, share it, share it, share it!!! Get it out there!
