Help the Lady Dragons compete on Canadian ice!
Donation protected
On Jan 6-8, 2023, the EYHA Lady Dragons U12 Tier 1 Team will be making history as the first all-girls hockey team from Ohio to compete in the International Silver Stick Final Hockey Tournament in Ontario, Canada. What makes this tournament so special? The International Silver Stick Tournament has been held annually since 1958. The philosophy of this tournament is for players to develop "citizenship and international goodwill through hockey". Historically it’s been an invitation-only tournament and only teams who won their regional tournament advance to the finals. The Lady Dragons were invited to compete early in the season and brought home the championship in the First Annual All-Girls St Clair Shores Regional Silver Stick Tournament. Now they move on to the final! Regardless of the outcome, we can all agree this will be a meaningful experience for these girls!
This tournament was not part of the original schedule and fees. The team was invited to participate in the regional tournament after the start of the season. Winning the regional championship was exciting but also brought along some scrambling to apply for passports for many families and budgeting for travel and hotel expenses. We are seeking donations to help offset the costs associated with this exciting but unanticipated tournament (~$850 per family). Your support will go towards each family’s travel expenses and passport application fees.
