In 2019, my brother Chris was diagnosed with type II diabetes. Everyday he is on insulin and other medications to lower his blood sugar and blood pressure. Because of the severity of the disease, he developed cataracts in both of his eyes. He cannot see very well. I have to drive him to the doctor and/or to pick up his medications at the pharmacy.  

His eye doctor told him that he needed immediate eye surgery for each eye or he will completely loose his sight. Each eye surgery would cost: $5,000. So, both eyes would cost $10,000. Our family are still struggling to come up with this amount.
