Eye surgery for Adam
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lori. My family and I are requesting funds to pay for eye surgery for my son, Adam. He has a condition called Kerataconis, where the shape of his eyes are in a “cone-like” shape rather than round. He has lost eyesight almost completely in his left eye and has significant loss of sight in his right. He has not been able to work for approximately 2½ years. He is married with 3 children.
The issue with his eyes was discovered during rehabilitation from breaking his back in the Fall of 2019. His eyesight was progressively getting worse causing him to need new prescriptions every few weeks. He was referred to several different specialists where his condition was eventually diagnosed. Then the search began to locate a physician who could best correct and/or heal his eyes. We found a doctor who could do laser surgery to attempt vision improvement in his left eye and the doctor would also place a corneal implant that would correct the Conal shape of his right eye, improving eyesight significantly in that eye. If the laser surgery in the left eye is not successful, he would need a corneal transplant. As you can see in the pictures, the one on the left is a picture prior to the diagnosis and the right picture is how he currently looks. Because of the pain he can barely open his eyes. The surgery is costly and we appreciate any financial assistance you can help with.
