Eye Believe in a Cure

Hi, My name is LJ. I am an RN, patient advocate and fund raising for a dear friend, Mary Perry, She was diagnosed with a very rare type of eye cancer, Uveal Melanoma, a type of very aggressive Ocular Melanoma. This is such a rare form of cancer that treatments are only available at a hospital in PA. There is a world renowned Physician at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has evaluated her, and can offer her options for treatment, biopsies, and clinical trials which are only at this facility. Unfortunately, her medical insurance is limiting her ability to access this facility for care. As a RN, knowing that she can’t go to this facility has led me to create this fundraiser to help her pay bills and access the care she needs. I own a small gym in MD and Mary is one of the members. She is a very accomplished Marathon runner, Olympic Lifter and she is a Medical Dietician.

Her specialty is helping people with eating disorders, youth with mental health diagnoses and eating disorders. Mary is always willing to help our members and educate our youth athletes when trying to gain or lose weight in a healthy way. Mary has helped so many people and recently published a book, It’s Not about the food.
