Meet Mack: a 190lb, 13-month-old English Mastiff. My name is Hailey, and ever since I can remember, my whole life has revolved around animals. Mack is the result of a dream I have had since I was a little girl. He is my best friend and goes everywhere I can legally take him with me! Mack brings joy to so many people just by hanging his head out the window or by clearing a shelf from wagging his tail too hard. He is the goofiest, most gentle giant to walk the earth.
Mack recently had an incident that resulted in the tearing of both of his CCLs (dog version of ACL). Since Thursday morning, he has been unable to move or stand on his own. It has been the longest, most gut-wrenching five days trying to diagnose him, and we have a very long recovery ahead of us. The only correction for this level of injury is a very invasive and expensive surgery called a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, otherwise known as a TPLO. Due to his size, Mack will have to go through a process of two surgeries, one leg followed by 8-12 weeks of recovery, then repeating everything again for the second leg.
My fiancé has undergone two back surgeries in the past year and is still healing from his second. With that being said, he has been out of work for quite some time, meaning we are relying on my vet-tech salary. We are asking for your help, prayer, and support as we navigate these next few months. We just want to have our puppy back to tail wagging and zoomies. We thank anyone who can help in any way you can offer.
