Dear Friends,
Two weeks ago, a devoted math teacher and a kind human being, that our family has known for years, came home to find her apartment flooded (landlord negligence). Three inches of water covered the floor, pouring from the ceiling and walls, destroying much of what she owned.
As if that weren’t enough, she’s also quietly battling a serious illness — and doing it with the same grace, strength, and selflessness she’s always shown her students and everyone around her. She’s too humble to ever ask for help, but right now she truly needs it.
Her landlord has refused to cover the damage to her belongings, the extra utility costs from water removal, or even her temporary housing while repairs are made. She’s facing this completely alone — she has no family nearby or anyone who can stand up for her in this dreadful situation.
So this year, instead of birthday gifts, I’m asking my friends and family to help her rebuild her life and spirit.
Your donation will help tremendously to cover some of the costs. Anything matters. And even the smallest contribution will make a real difference.
I appreciate and thank you for any support you can provide
With love,
Leeza
