being selected to sail from Aruba to Panama as part of their two-year project. Less than 3% of applicants were successful, so I am honoured and absolutely delighted to be a part of this team on such an exciting and worthwhile adventure.

- Raise awareness of the devastating impact of single-use plastic and toxins in the world’s oceans
- Collect samples to feed into large-scale studies and contribute to innovative scientific research to tackle the crisis
- Explore the scale of plastic pollution and the available solutions
- Celebrate women in science, leadership, adventure and create a community of female change-makers.Why?
I want to do whatever I can to reverse the detrimental impact that we have had on our planet so future generations can continue to enjoy and thrive in our environment. I want to make a positive difference and raise awareness within my community, my family and friend circles and my workplace, to shine a spotlight on the damaging effects of plastics.
The work that eXXpedition
are doing is fundamental in the continued research required but is also building a community of change-makers. They are passionate about exploring solutions and sharing their journeys to help educate policy makers, organisations, communities and individuals.
