This July, I’ve been selected to join eXXpedition in the Arctic, sailing from Ilulissat to Nuuk to research microplastics in one of the most fragile ecosystems on Earth.
To take part, each crew member must fund their place. I’m aiming to raise €3,500 over the next month, and I would be incredibly grateful for your support!
Why this matters
I’ve been sailing since I was six, and growing up by the Mediterranean, the sea has always been part of my life. But over the years, I’ve witnessed a visible increase in plastic pollution, something that is now impossible to ignore.
Microplastics are one of the greatest unseen threats to our oceans. They absorb toxins and enter the food chain, impacting marine life and, ultimately, human health.
This mission will help uncover where this pollution is coming from and what we can do about it.
Why I’m doing this
I previously sailed with eXXpedition in 2019, contributing to research and sharing what I learned through media, talks, and community engagement.
Since then, I’ve continued to advocate for change, combining my background in external communications and journalism to raise awareness and inspire action.
I believe storytelling can drive change and I’m committed to bringing the insights from this expedition in the Arctic back to communities, companies, and audiences who can help make a difference.
More about eXXpedition
eXXpedition is a series of all-women expeditions tackling the ocean plastic crisis. They take crews to sea to witness the plastic problem first-hand, contribute to groundbreaking scientific research and bring back stories that inspire change.
