Renovations For Clare Holland House

The GoFund Me I started initially so I could raise enough money for an extra long hospital bed to accommodate tall patients (like my brother Matt), for Clare Holland House.
I was so glad when I raised enough money for one bed ($5,600!), but after Clare Holland House did more research with their builders we were told that none of the rooms can currently have a bed that size because WHS for the nurses (there has to be a certain distance from the bed to the wall etc).
This money will go towards the renovations for one room.
But, I’m not stopping there!
I want this to be standard for every room at Clare Holland House. No patient should liveout their final days in discomfort because they can’t fit in the bed properly.
Please help me make this reality, I need your help.
As some of you know, Matt (my brother), spent the last week of his life in palliative care at the Clare Holland House in Canberra. The staff and volunteers there were amazing; so kind and in awe as Matt spent his first five days outside next to the lake with his mates fishing; he did not want to waste any day he had left, even as he got weaker.
His nights there however were not the best for him. He was a tall person, so when he laid in the bed he had to really try hard to find a comfortable position he could stay in to sleep. If he didn’t his feet would be off the end of the bed. We brought about 5 different types of pillows for him to help keep his body comfortable.
I hated seeing him like that. We asked if they had any beds that were longer for tall people, unfortunately they didn’t as they are quite expensive.
Clare Holland House is a not for profit run through Calvary Hospital, everything they have is bought through donations made to the organisation.
I would love to raise enough money so that they are able to buy at least one extra long bed (if we raise more than that that’s a wonderful bonus). My brother Matt wasn’t the first tall person to stay at Clare Holland and he won’t be the last. I don’t want anyone else in that situation to be uncomfortable in their final days.
