Extons Foods are raising money for Miracle Ambika's Healing Journey.
This is a cause close to all of us as Ambika is the granddaughter of one of our long serving members of staff and therefore we would like to help them reach their target!
Our Factory Manager Bob and Engineering Manager Lee will be embarking on a bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats on 12th June, this journey is 1000 Miles (1,609KM) and normally takes 10-14 days to complete!
The current record is 9 days so we will be tracking them along the way to check on their progress.
This is a massive journey and the Extons Foods Team is rallying behind them!
Any donations big or small will be hugely appreciated.
A brief story of Ambika is below, if you would like to read the full story you can do here https://www.gofundme.com/miracle-ambika039s-healing-journey
On the 31st of October 2017 Ambika was born, full term. The perfect, uncomplicated 9 months of pregnancy came to a sudden terrifying halt for the family as within a few hours their lives changed forever. What Manisha, Ambika’s Mum, (as well as doctors) thought was the flu, was actually Group Strep A infection which turned into the deadly killer sepsis within minutes.
Due to Manisha’s illness and medical negligence Ambika had suffered severe brain damage and was given the worst possible prognosis. Manisha’s family were advised to turn off Ambika’s ventilator and say their goodbyes, but on the evening of this awful event Ambika began to breath on her own.
Ambika has been diagnosed with brain damage, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy & Cortical Visual Impairment, but is continuously proving doctors wrong and reaching inchstones towards her milestones!
Ambika has recently started a new therapy thanks to donations from family and friends which is helping her development, we hope to raise even more so that she can have the best life possible.
Thanks
The Extons Foods Team
