Hello family, friends, customers, potential customers, everyone!

Welcome to the first-ever public video about our business, the ups and downs, the progress and devastation that we have been through over our 38 years in business, bringing us now sadly, to the brink of going out of business,……..forever…..

After starting in 1981, in the basement of a home, growing and moving to a shed, then to a newly built building, adding an addition, etc… our business has grown by leaps and leaps over the years, and has becomes a booming business where regular customers travel over an hour to come, one way. But all of our growth, blessing as it has been, has come with a very heavy price tag. When a business has an absolutely insane amount of growth, and the owners, due to countless complications fail to keep up with the demand, the business suffers greatly. Countless mistakes are made, hiring is rushed, employees are not trained and ready, customer’s units are lost, parts do not get ordered in time, stock is not replaced when sold out, and the list seems endless of ceaseless problems. These simply snowball on each other over and over leading through cash flow problems, through financing options and interest, to desperate high interest loans on top of crazy high interest loans, back taxes, mad vendors, walking employees, lost sales, lost customers, etc…

As the current owner, all I could do was wage a constant ruthless battle against every force working against us, but there comes a sad point, where, no matter how many hours you work, how many meals you skip, lack of sleep, and too much caffeine, it’s a no go.  No matter the multitasking, pushing employees harder than any should be pushed, there comes a point where enough is enough, game over, we lost, time to close the doors forever,.....……….or is it?

Many small businesses in our position, actually in a position nowhere near as bad as we are, simply declare bankruptcy and become a statistic of the past. They were here, now they are gone, never to return. You know who I mean, people you can think of who are no longer there for you and you miss them.

In my position, as owner, I have decided to take a different route…

We could have let you pull into our parking lot and, wow, we’re gone, never to help you again, But we have chosen to go out to the entire community, by word of mouth, but our road sign, by phone, by mail, by email, and finally online, truly to the entire world! Our message is simple: we are going out of business unless our customers value the service that we have provided over the years enough to fund our business completely out of its current chaos, and into a smooth, safe, profitable and properly running small engine service for you for years to come. Our target is $100,000*, which would remove all of the debt under which we have been buried and suffocating. It would put inventory in place after paying off all vendors, would satisfy all back taxes, penalties, and fees, put proper reserve cash in the bank, make credit lines available, payroll covered, and personal loans from people to stay in business paid off in full. And lastly, how about a new location? A flat one! Imagine that! A place you can go to, level, easily park, pull in and out, have plenty of room for trailers, a hand to help you load and unload, a properly stocked and inventoried parts department, a service department that has enough room, tools, employees, training, certifications, and experience. A place where you can see equipment for sale inside and out of the weather, rather than often just simply in a catalog. A place where your equipment is kept, while in for repair, under roof. A place where you can sit and relax for 10 minutes and get a drink on us, while we perform a tune-up on your mower! Yes, on spot tune ups are in the works and will become reality for, I’m told, the first time in our industry, should we be able to simply have the space to support such an aggressive goal. But those are only a few of the ways that we hope to keep serving you and what’s more exciting, serve you better than we ever have!

But It is now completely up to you and all of you out there as to whether we are worth keeping in business to serve you in the future or not. If no, I sincerely apologize for what you have been through as the owner of Exton Mower Sales and Service, LLC, and I wish we could have done better. But if we are worth it, as the owner as well, on behalf of all of us, I give you the biggest thanks I can give you, and can’t wait to see you here or perhaps even better, at a great new location and serve you like we have never before been able!

It’s welcome to the new Exton Mower Service or Bye forever!

It’s GO FUND ME or GONE !

*Our goal was originally $400,000 but as we have not been getting the support we were hoping for, only having the time so far to contact less than 5% of our customers, we have dropped our goal to $100,000.  Note, this will not erase our deficit completely, but will give us a good boost to help us get through these tough times.
