Extensive recovery and support

Hey I am Erin’s mom, we are raising funds to aid in her recovery after a vicious attack.

On September 23rd at 8:16 am, my daughters' life was forever changed. My light, my beautiful baby, my only child, my star, was permanently disfigured by a jealous woman who has stalked her for weeks. My daughter was leaving the building to walk her goddaughter down to the school bus when she was approached and viciously attacked by a woman and her two children. “What’s up now” she said to my daughter before she stabbed her three time, in the eye, hand and head. Leaving her wounded. This was a vicious attack from a woman my daughter had never met or interacted with. This crime was fueled by hate and jealousy.

After hours of surgery, my light, my beautiful, fiercely independent, hardworking daughter came out of surgery with her life forever changed. This vicious act of violence by a rage-filled, hateful and jealous woman has left her without vision in her left eye. As per the eye surgeons, she will need extensive aftercare, which includes; several eye surgeries, therapy, nurses, aides, and counseling to deal with the fact that she will not be who we all know Erin to be. Anyone that knows her is touched by her warm spirit, her infectious personality, her zest for life, her goofiness, her big heart. You can’t help but be in love with how she sees the world around her and how she loves her family/ friends.

Erin is a constant source of life. She is a beautiful helping, loving light full of joy, promise, super talented, always wearing a smile, always willing to help people and loved and admired by many. My daughter is known to her family/ friends as just Erin, the rest of the church told may know her as @iamrebourne or “Candle Bae” in relation to @rebournenyc. No matter how you know her, you know that her passion is her business (rebournebodyandhone.com), her family/ friends and life. You also know she is a young woman who loves to travel, is down to earth and is a champion for female causes. She is the embodiment of female empowerment.

My daughter has always had to deal with peoples jealousy and hate, but it never changed her heart. However, her faith has been tested a few times in her life, but nothing like this. I know my Daughter, I know this beautiful soul will not only survive this, but she will use this experience to catapult her to the next phase of her life. At this moment, we are overwhelmed with what will be a long journey ahead of Erin. Trying to develop a strong support system that will help her overcome this crime. Insurance will take care of some of the medical bills, but much more financial support is needed. Erin will be unable to do the regular things for herself that we take for granted, like walk down the street, drive, move around the house, make her hand-poured candles, and a host of other things. We are asking, and I am asking (as her mother) for your help and support in her recovery. Anything you give would go a long way in aiding her medical expenses and recovery.

My heart has felt at its capacity for pain in the past few years but on 09/23/2022, it finally reached its limit and broke. I have always been an advocate for young people. Prided myself on never letting harm come to someone else’s child. So it heartbreaking to see my child have to go through this yet again and leaving me feeling helpless.
