Hello friends. My name is Alex and I am doing a fundraising for Mochi, our beagle. We had him since he was a baby and has become the joy to our home. Our boy is now 8.5 years old and fell backwards from our bed when he stood up and hit his neck area on our bed nightstand. A few days after the incident, he cries when I carry him from the chest area so I brought him to a 24 HR vet clinic. They gave him some pain medication but the next day he lost some function in his front right leg. Within 20 hrs, he lost function in all of his legs and then his entire body became paralyzed. We rushed him back to the clinic and after a physical check and ultrasound, they told us to take him to the hospital. Mochi was seen as soon we arrived and after a few minutes later the bad news came.  They told us that they suspected a bad spine injury and that we have two options. Put him to sleep or he goes thru an MRI and straight to surgery which is very expensive with a estimate of $ 9 - 12 K.  Although it will take a Lt of sacrifice ln our part, we told them to do what needs to be done to help him. Post surgery 5 days later, he is gaining a little function with body and left hind leg. The doctor is very optimistic of his recovery but warned us that it may take some time for him to recover and there will be additional costs. We are invested of seeing this thru so it is time for us to dig in deeper.  He is out now from the hospital but was transferred to a rehab center and could stay there for 2-4 weeks.

Between hospital and rehab expenses we are now looking at 18 - 22 K in expenses. Some Facebook friends from our beagle community group asked me if I have a Go fund me account set up for my boy so they can donate and that's why Im opening this account for anyone who wants to extend a helping hand.  Although money donations will help pay for his ecpenses, the power of prayer for Mochi will be the ultimate gift for him.
