Hello my name is LaTicia Copeland and last year September 29, 2021 I was diagnosed with ILD, Interstitial Lung Disease. I have never smoked a day in my life, but yet have been diagnosed with this rare disease which unfortunately has no cure for the disease only treatments such as medications and lung transplants that can help slow the spread of the disease. Since September I have been introduced to a great care team locally and ongoing visits to great specialists back and forth to Ohio State Wexner Lung Transplant Center. With that being said, I'm approaching the next steps and waiting for a donor for a double lung transplant. Due to the extent and severity of my condition my doctors have placed me on a continuous leave at my full-time job in healthcare. I am asking for donations to help with lodging, while I am in the hospital before and after transplants, which is expected to be @ 12 weeks, and expenses after discharged while I will be needing round the clock care 24/7 for an additional 12 weeks, travel to and from Cincinnati to Columbus for doctor and follow-up visits, medical and other expenses.
