All it took was petting her dog. Feeling a small bump on Sage’s neck raised concern for Lexi, fearing the worst. Working with a veterinary specialist, her worst fears were answered. Sage, a 5-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, Lexi’s service dog, and lifeline, was diagnosed with thyroid carcinoma. Her treatments for thyroid cancer guarantee her life to be prolonged by several years, but the cost of her treatments is drastically high due to Lexi’s current state of pregnancy, being unable to bring income in from her horse training business.
