Those who know me knows I am always eager to help someone…anyone. At this time in my life, I’m asking for help. My oldest son is at the end of End Stage 5 Renal failure. He needs a kidney. He never ever murmurs or complains although he goes to treatment 3 days a week. He’s an amputee military veteran from the 101st Airborne Division of the Army. A true soldier in every sense of the word, while still waiting for his military benefits. Monday, we were told he wouldn’t survive through this year. As God would have it, I began all of the testing in May to ascertain if my 72 year old kidney would be a match for my child. My last test was in September. Because of the goodness of God and our DNA, I am a perfect match! Our surgery is scheduled for October 29th at one of the leading transplant hospitals in Georgia. I am so grateful. The hardship is, I am also a widow now with limited funds. The medicines that he will require to avoid rejection are priced astronomically. However, when he recuperates and get his strength back, prayerfully, he’ll be able to go back to work to pay for his necessary medicines, which are very expensive. He’s eager for that day! And at nearly 73 years old, chronologically only, I am planning, against his will, to go back to work, to help him afford his medical needs moving forward. I’ve explained to my son that although I was afraid during my pregnancy with him; it was an honor to have him live inside of me for 9 months. Now I’ll be honored to live inside of him forever. Without exaggeration, we need your help to prolong my child’s life. Please help us. Thank you.
God bless everyone doubly for hearing my heart.
With sincere gratitude,
Betty Honey Graves Reynolds
