Extend love to Yunaleska’s Family after tragic loss

Some souls stay only for a little while, yet leave an imprint that lasts forever.

Yunaleska was just 2 years old, yet her light shone brightly. She was the kind of child who could melt hearts with her smile — who learned to count and sing before most could even speak clearly. She danced without fear, made friends without hesitation, and loved with her whole little heart. Gentle, joyful and full of promise, she was a gift to everyone who knew her.

She was also a child of faith, raised in a family that worships God with sincerity and strength. Even at her young age, Yunaleska would raise her hands in worship, joining in the songs of praise around her.

But on the Sunday of April 27th, everything changed. She was already dressed up ready to worship God and suppose to go to church but a sudden car accident sent her to the ICU of Comer's Children Hospital in Chicago. Her family clung to hope, surrounding her with prayers and quiet courage. For two days, she fought with the strength of a warrior but on Tuesday of April 29th, her little body let go. She was declared brain dead.

No parent is ever ready to lose a child. Nothing prepares the heart of a goodbye like this. Now, her family is left not only with their grief, but also with an overwhelming hospital expenses and the quiet, painful task of giving her a peaceful farewell.
