Help Kathy Hicks and donate for treatment and expenses

Kathy is my dear friend of almost 50 years. She is entering a chapter of her life that she needs love and support after an earth-shattering diagnosis of Terminal Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma. She needs our help to pay for monthly cost of living as she is undergoing treatment and also medical costs incurred along the way.

Kathy graduated in 1981 from Anoka Senior High School, in Anoka, Minnesota and has lived in the area her entire life. She has a wonderful son, Jason whom she loves dearly, and he has given her 2 beautiful grandchildren, a teenage boy and now a newborn baby girl.

Kathy is a machinist by trade, and currently employed as such. She met the love of her life, Jay, in the industry in 2011, became friends and started dating in 2016. In 2018 he was diagnosed with aggressive Prostate cancer. At that time Kathy was suffering heart issues resulting from Atrial Fibrillation, also known as AFib, while planning their marriage. She put off her treatment and marriage plan to support Jay in his time of need. Their world and plans took a monumental turn as you can imagine. I am very sorry to say Jay passed away from his illness in January of 2019.

Since that time, Kathy has had a rough road of medical issues. Due to the heart issues, she has endured 2 ablations and 3 cardioversion procedures. Amidst her grieving the loss of Jay, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in February 2022. This diagnosis was followed up with surgery and 12 weeks of Chemotherapy.

After 2 years, she was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Adenocarcinoma, following a CT. MRI and PET scan. She is facing colonoscopy and endoscopy soon and after that time the Oncologist will have more information to determine the best treatment option to not only extend her life, but also make it more comfortable.

As of today, Kathy is working on acquiring a 2nd opinion and researching Cancer treatment Centers.

Kathy is one of the strongest and most resilient women I know. She remains positive and hopeful. She is a faithful Christian and would greatly appreciate all prayers and support.
