Our beloved Donna, Donnie, Ma, Our Everything is facing the toughest battle of her life: stage four liver cancer that is aggressively spreading. This devastating diagnosis has turned our world upside down, and we are reaching out for your support during this incredibly challenging time.

For those who know Donna, you know her as a vibrant, strong, spontaneous, and loving woman who has always given anyone a smile on their face and stomach cramps from laughing for days. She brightens any room she enters with her eyes, smile, and witty sense of humor, but most of all, she’s always had a huge genuine heart and is never afraid to be authentic and honest. Now, she needs our help more than ever.

The advanced stage of her cancer means that treatment options are complex and incredibly expensive. We are exploring every possible avenue, from chemotherapy and radiation to immunotherapy and clinical trials, all in the hope of extending her life and improving her quality of life. We are and have even been considering natural remedies and treatments, but unfortunately, these treatments, along with necessary medications and frequent hospital visits, are quickly accumulating into an overwhelming financial burden.

As her cancer progresses, Donna is also facing increasing discomfort and will later on require more constant care more than likely. This means that, in addition to medical bills, we will also struggle with the costs of specialized nutrition, potential in-home care, lost income from family members needing to take time off work to care for her eventually, and all else encounters. This is not something I’ve experienced before with a loved one, so I am just taking this day by day as well as my three siblings. There have already been highs, lows, confusion, sadness, and of course, she’s been trying to make the best of it with laughs even after her first week of aggressive chemotherapy 3x a week. She’s always had a lot of pride in being independent and has no idea that I’m making this page, so try not to mention it to her until we see how this goes. We have talked about making one; she has made one and deleted it, but she’s still dealing with her own mental and, of course, physical effects that this is taking on her, let alone me pushing this conversation on her.
