Hello, my name is David McConnell, and I’m reaching out with a hopeful heart to share my story and ask for your support as I face cancer for a second time.
My story
In May of 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver and colon cancer. I was given 3 months to live without treatment. Through faith, determination, and the care of an amazing medical team, I underwent treatment, completed 3 major surgeries, 11 rounds of chemo, 5 rounds of radiation and countless other procedures which led to a celebration of being cancer-free for 29 months.
Recently, in Sept 2025, I received the difficult news that cancer has returned. This second battle comes with new treatments, additional tests, and ongoing medical needs that are financially draining.
I am grateful for the love and support from family and friends who have stood by me through the years. Their encouragement has kept me resilient in the face of fear and uncertainty.
My Testimony: God’s mercy and loving kindness.
Immediately after the cancer diagnosis, my wife and I decided to ask GOD: What is your will for me and where do I fit in? I asked GOD to remove the anger, fear, anxiety, depression and the natural emotions associated with dying. If HE could help me manage these emotions, then I could function as a normal person during the dying phase of life. I was unaware of the forth coming testimony and the daily walk with God and perfect strangers.
It is hard to understand and explain the peace, calm and happiness I have been enjoying all these months with cancer. God gave me a path, a story to tell, and an opportunity to witness daily to anyone about this journey and the Mercy and Grace that God has for those that seek it.
I am so thankful to enjoy another day and being able to interact with perfect strangers telling my story about how GOD has worked in my life and about the warmth I feel sharing this story.
My Promise to God is to give my testimony EVERYDAY in the hopes of raising someone’s faith just a little by reinforcing the loving nature of God, that Jesus is the way and the resurrection is the promise that is guaranteed to those that seek his will and through the blood of Christ.
I have given my testimony to over 500+ perfect strangers by demonstrating how GOD has worked in my life and continues in giving me an extended stay here on earth. My commitment to you and my promise to GOD is to continue to faithfully stay on this path, giving my testimony to perfect strangers everyday till my last day.
Your contribution will help me pay for these treatments with the hope of extending my life which will lead to daily testimonies and sharing the Grace and Mercy of God. Thank you in advance for your prayers and the contributions that GOD lays on your heart.
Why I’m Asking for Help
Medical expenses are piling up: co-pays, medications, lab work, imaging, and specialist visits add up quickly.
Insurance coverage has gaps that leave me with out-of-pocket costs that I simply cannot cover on my own.
The funds raised will directly support:
Ongoing treatments and chemotherapy sessions
Prescription medications and supportive care
Hospital and infusion center visits
Transportation and lodging if needed for treatment
Everyday living expenses during treatment to help me focus on healing
What Your Support Will Do
Help me stay compliant with treatment plans, which is crucial for the best possible outcomes.
Alleviate financial stress so I can conserve energy for healing, rest, and time with loved ones.
Ensure I don’t have to choose between essential needs and receiving the care I require.
About Me
I am a loving Christian man with a strong devotion to God, my wife, my family and many friends. I have enjoyed many hobbies in my life but I focus on tennis, coaching soccer, wood working and my love for flying, and I am dedicated to staying hopeful and resilient through this journey.
I am grateful for God, the medical team guiding my treatment, and the community supporting me along the way.
Updates & Transparency
I promise to provide regular updates on my treatment progress, milestones, and how the funds are being used.
Receipts and summaries will be shared to maintain transparency with every donor.
How You Can Help
Please consider donating any amount you can. Every dollar brings me closer to treatment, stability, and peace of mind.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing my story with your network would mean the world and can make a huge difference.
Gratitude
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for your compassion. Your generosity gives me strength to fight another day.
With heartfelt appreciation,
David McConnell.
