I am embarrassed to say I am desperate. I have been employed and self-sufficient for more than 10 years. I have been searching for a job for nearly a year now, and I don't know what else to do.

I have been applying not only for jobs at the same level I have been in, but also for low-pay, entry-level jobs just to get by. However, I cannot seem to get hired. I applied to places like Walmart, McDonald's, Taco Bell, etc., but have been getting no responses.

I have used my network to ask for any open positions I can apply for and sent out dozens of applications/resumes per week, sometimes more than a dozen per day! Often the positions are eliminated due to the instability in the economy, so the challenge is even worse.

I am asking if anyone can chip in a few dollars to help me get by until I can find a job. My goal would give me nearly 3 more months to get hired and start getting paid. Please consider sharing, but even $5 can help keep me from losing my home and everything I have worked for for the last 20 years.
