Hi, my name is Kevin ONeil, an I’m facing a life-altering medical challenge. Since 2020, I’ve been closely monitoring a cyst on my pancreas. Unfortunately, it has grown to an abnormal size and is the type that will eventually turn cancerous. My doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital have recommended the Whipple procedure—a major operation to remove the part of my pancreas with the cyst, part of the duodenal duct, a portion of my small intestine, and my gallbladder. The surgery also requires extensive reconstruction afterward.
I met with my surgeon on June 5, and he strongly recommended that I have the operation within the next two weeks. While he said it could be delayed until fall at the latest, waiting any longer would put my health at serious risk.
Here’s where I need your help:
Recovery includes a 7–14 day hospital stay, followed by up to two months of recovery at home. During that time, I won’t be able to work or earn any income. Without financial support, I simply can’t afford to take the time I need to heal, and that means I can’t move forward with this essential surgery.
Your donations will help cover:
• Rent and basic living expenses while I recover
• Transportation to and from MGH
• Food and medical supplies during recovery
• Any unforeseen out-of-pocket medical costs
I’m determined to face this with hope and courage, but I can’t do it alone. Any contribution—large or small—will make a difference. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this with others who might be able to help.
Thank you so much for your support, kindness, and prayers.
With gratitude,
Kevin ONeil
