Many of you probably remember Carlos from his days at Camp Harmony and The Orchard Academy, where he worked for close to 10 years and truly became part of the family. It is with a heavy heart that I report that while coming home from work on Thursday, July 31st, that Carlos and his two brothers were arrested by ICE and subsequently detained in a facility in Elizabeth. With so much as a hearing, Carlos was sent to Guatemala after spending 41 days in jail. He has not seen his three children since. He was literally sent to an airport in Guatemala with no money and no identification. His wallet was never returned to him. Carlos hired a lawyer who was not able to do much to help him and left his family penniless. Being the primary bread winner, Carlos is not longer able to provide for his family, much less see them. I am asking for help on Carlos' behalf ( he did not ask me to do this by the way) to help his wife and children cover the most basic of expenses, as they are facing almost certain eviction from their home. Any donation, no matter the amount, will GO DIRECTLY to Carlos' wife Gabriella and his children Everleigh, Harold and Keyla. Thank you so much - every little bit will help!
