Expressions of Sympathy to Brads Children
Donation protected
Hi Friends
These 4 beautiful children are losing their dad to Terminal Brain Cancer called Glioblastoma. They went to Duke in August and did not receive the report they were hoping for. He has a new spot on his right temporal lobe. It's to diffuse to remove it surgically, so the treatment plan was to do SRS radiation on it along with a couple of rounds of the original chemo that he took, called Temodar, his next Dr.'s appointment was scheduled for November. Their dad has had 2 years straight of treatment now and almost 4 1/2 years since his diagnosis. His body is worn down and tired through and through. But no matter what is thrown his way he continues to fight.
November had arrived and their Dad went to the doctor and the family received devastating news. Brad’s tumor had spread. Despite the aggressive chemo and radiation treatments, his cancer has grown. Dr. Peters says there are no more treatment options for Brad. The family asked multiple times if there is anything else he can do, and she said no. Anything else would do more harm than good. Unfortunately, the doctor recommended Hospice since they did not feel that he would make it until Christmas. This was such sad and debilitating news for his wife and children to hear. We are, however, still praying for a miracle. Like his wife said before, she knows God will heal him one way or another. Either here or There. It’s in His hands and we trust His heart. So we accept how God unfolds it. But along the way we have all the freedom to ask for the healing to be here on earth, and so we do. Here is a statement that his wife made shortly after receiving this devastating news. "In retrospect, I’m so thankful for all the time we’ve had at home. Bc of Covid, we’ve laid low. It allowed us to spend a lot of time together as a family every single day. We’ve gotten really close. We’ve talked openly about so many things. We’ve learned together. We’ve laughed together. We’ve worshipped God together. We’ve made tons of memories. Not from traveling and exploring, but from being right here in our cozy home together. "
One of their dads wishes is to have gifts of sympathy to go towards their children. This wish is why we have setup this gofundme. If you see a calling and wish to donate the family will forever be grateful.
As this is created their dad and loving husband has been move to hospice.
