The Australian government is failing to act to ensure the safety of the community, and this is particularly concerning in schools, hospitals and aged care.
Covid Safe schools is committed to exposing lies and buried facts about transmission, and the lack of prevention measures in schools, hospitals (and other health care settings), and aged care.
We are applying under the Government Information Public Access (GIPA) and Freedom of Information laws forcing government departments to release information about COVID policy. The government is delaying and demanding that we pay for the information. Several applications have been refused and we are now appealing. Fees and legal expenses will exceed $6,000 – please contribute what you can. We think this information will reveal the true extent of the lies. We have a right to know! Please share - every $ helps.
The uncontrolled spread of COVID, 'flu and RSV is causing massive disruption to children's education and to parents’ working lives. We don't yet know the extent of long COVID or other lasting damage to children. In a few weeks isolation will end and the risk of children or teachers spending days cooped up with an infectious child will increase. Teachers (and other workers in short supply) will be pressured to come to work sick.
Covid Safe Schools Inc has made over 20 applications under freedom of information laws since March 2022 and the departments of Health, Education and Prime Minister and Cabinet have repeatedly delayed responding to CSS's requests, and demanded that we pay for the information. CSS estimates these fees and legal expenses to exceed $6,000.
We know this information will reveal the true extent of the lies we're being told. We have a right to know – please contribute what you can.
Information CSS is demanding:
- How many children have been absent from school due to COVID?
- How many children have been hospitalised?
- What health advice did the Education Minister receive about risks to children? Was there advice on risk mitigation? Did the Minister ignore the advice?
- Details of the fake “ventilation audits” of all schools in September 2021 and explanation of why most of these were revised three weeks later, doubling or trebling occupancy limits for many rooms.
- Records of CO2 levels in classrooms and why parents have been prohibited from installing CO2 monitors.
- Why the Premier insisted on supplying RATs to schools even though the Health department advised against it, as this amounted to "surveillance theatre" as contact tracing was removed at the same time?
- Why did the Health Minister reject the recommendation of the Health Department to re-introduce indoor mask mandates?
- Why did schools drop mask mandates and remove density limits?
- What was the health advice when isolation was scrapped?
- What effort has the government made to survey Australians' knowledge and beliefs about COVID?
- What is the Federal government doing about ventilation in residential aged care?
This is just of small sample of the information we’re requesting.
