Since the fire six months ago, I have lost my job & have zero form of income for the time being. I am still fighting to find proper medication to treat my variety of mental health issues that I've been battling for nine long years. I attend weekly therapy (& I've tried support groups, etc.) to further my resources both in the community & with myself (learning better coping skills, etc.).
Unfortunatley, progress is slow, as is recovering from any serious, life-threatening health issue. I must work through my past traumas in therapy (using EMDR: eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), learn coping mechanims that can help calm anxiety & other negative symptoms that're easily triggered, discover a good medication combination & establish a proper dosage for each of them, etc.--all while trying to function as an adult, too.
It's proving to be far more challenging than one might suppose! Currently I am unable to provide for myself, along with having meltdowns nearly every day--sometimes a dozen times throughout a day. Medications always have side effects. Therapy is exhausting & triggering. Most people can't handle my baggage so things get lonely sometimes. Life is overall just pretty damn tough right now.
On top of it all, I never recovered any of my belongings from the fire--because of politics, not even because of flames! I live off of food & clothing & love from friends.
Truly, deeply, from the bottom of my heart: Every hug & every dollar helps me heal. It helps me survive, get by, & hope for a better future, all while working towards total healing. ♡
Blessings, & much love,

On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, my apartment burned down. ("Structure Fire at: 3803 Half Turn Rd." News Article.) I was home asleep when it happened. Thankfully the maintenance man, a friend of mine, caught eye of the fire & got everyone out safely. I'm so thankful I was home so I was able to get my cat out OK. (He's my best friend!)
I don't have renter's insurance (barely been making it by, it never even crossed my mind to get it), & I lost everything. So I'm fundraising to help get me back on my feet.
The complex put me up in an apartment across the street from where the fire happened, so I have somewhere to live for now. Unfortunately, it's a horrible place, particularly with bugs & crime. Please pray for my safety, & pray that I find somewhere better to live before something bad happens.
During all this chaos, my depression has, naturally, worsened severely. (See my blog about mental illness: http://kristinkarina.wix.com/exploreexistence.) Encouragement is greatly needed during this devastating time.
Thank you all for your continuous support. I couldn't survive life's chaos without it.
Much love,
-Kristin Windsor
