Experimental Drug for Lou Gehrig's Disease

Hello, I am Linda Brown and I will be the recipient of this fundraiser. Losing my partner pictured above was a major blow in my life. Losing the ability to bead and do other creative things that were passions for me has been equally as difficult. As this disease progresses it is totally diabilitating and life-threatening. I have grandchildren I want to see graduate from high school and others I want to see on their way with careers and marriage.

I started having numbness in my hands and feet and off I went to see doctors. 14 months ago I had vascular and nerve surgery on my right arm. I was able to regain some control but not enough, so off to more doctors and it was discovered that I had Lou Gehrig's. Luckily I have great doctors and I was willing to do anything to postpone the progression of this disease.

I am now on an experimental drug that has given me and my doctors some hope. My Insurance company has been awesome in covering everything this past year but they will not cover the expense of an experimental drug. The research facility based in Germany has provided me with a 4 month's supply of the drugs but once those are gone it will cost $1600.00 a month. I have had private donations already that will cover 4 months but need more funds to cover 4 more months plus some extra for hotel stays while I go thru testing at Virginia Mason.
