Expenses; Recovery due to surgery colon can

My name is Kim and I am Hannah's mom. Hannah was diagnosed with F.A.P. in Feb of 2020 while a junior in high school. F.A.P. is a hereditary condition that causes hundreds of polyps in the colon that turns into colon cancer. Hannah has a long family history from her fathers side of the family of FAP, colon cancer, desmoid tumors etc. We started treatment at Cleveland Clinic and found out shortly after that Hannah had thyroid cancer due to the F.A.P. 7/31/2020, they had their entire thyroid removed and has had to take medicine daily to replace the thyroid function. Since that time, Hannah has had to undergo annual colonoscopies to monitor the amount, size, and color of polyps to try and hold off removal as long as safely possible on top of semi annual ultrasounds and blood work to monitor the cancer in the thyroid area and surrounding lymph nodes to make sure it didnt come back and spread. On 8/1/22, we went to Cleveland and the colonoscopy results for Hannah showed almost triple the amount of polyps from last years. They say it is time to remove the colon. Hannah is only 19. The pathology came back precancerous too so that further creates the need to get this done asap. We have our consult with the surgeon on 8/31/22 to find out when Hannah's surgery will be. I imagine soon. Hannah moved to Toledo a few months after graduating high school in 2021. We were positive we had more time. But time has kicked us in the face. Hannah has just renewed thier lease with thier roommate and they are on the hook for another year. Hannah will not be able to work after surgery for at least 6 to 8 weeks if everything goes smoothly with no complications and setbacks. Hannah will have major lifestyle, food changes to adapt too. Hannah doesn't have any savings and I've depleted most of my funds in helping them to purchase a vehicle since they hit a deer earlier this year and thier car got totaled. It would be fantastic if the community and friends and family could help Hannah get through this tough time so they don't have to lose thier apartment or break thier lease. I will be trying to cover as much as I can but I will also have extra costs for hotel and traveling while Hannah recovers. They will likely be in the hospital for at least a week and I will probably have to get a hotel. I am going to look into community resources for Hannah as well, but it would be nice for Hannah not to stress more than they have already had to with this disease. Please share this and if you can afford to, consider donating to help Hannah with the cost of thier bills during the next few months while recovering. Thank you for reading. ❤️
