Hello everyone..

My name is Jenaia, most of you will know me by Naia.

This is a lot for me to type as I am NOT one to ask for help EVER. Recently my life has shifted in major ways I would’ve never thought of.

LETS JUMP TO IT.

Only some know I was severely mauled by a dog while working on August 10, 2025 right outside of Darwell, AB. Which is approximately 86 km from Edmonton, AB. As a result from the incident i ended up with 44 stitches and limited mobility in all my limbs for the first few months. I still have to rebuild all my muscle in my legs and arms & will forever have severe nerve damage. Along with teeth marks on my leg bone that will probably be there for life the Surgeons said. This healing process has been a roller coaster for sure. I got most of my stitches out on August 25th and the last stitches from my surgery came out on August 29th. The big wound on my leg did get very infected & didn’t close officially till October 17, 2025. Healing mentally has also been a very big challenge affecting my day to day life including eating, sleeping and my social life.

Fast forward to today. I am currently in Calgary, AB enrolled in a TPI level 3 return to work program that is 10 - 12 weeks as I would LOVE to resume normal life ASAP.

In the first few months I had appointments multiple times a week with Doctors, Surgeons, Home care and Psychologists. I still currently have weekly appointments with Kinesiologists, A Physiotherapist, Psychologists and an Occupational Therapist while being enrolled in this program. 

Non of this has been easy but I’m a determined young individual that will work for anything that is a benefit for myself and my future.

Currently I am receiving benefits but my benefits have since been cut and are barely covering expenses as I have to travel to Calgary every week for this program and still make sure all my bills are paid. I do manage everything pretty well but over the months most of my main supports fell through & different payments have added up and left me feeling like there’s no options left … I am one to NEVER ask for help as I love to work for everything but I feel my story is important and I am too..

I am forever grateful for all the support I’ve received from people I know or have interacted with. Words could never describe how thankful I am. I know times are unimaginably tough for everyone right now so I’m grateful for anything anyone can help with..
