Expenses related to Kathy Hapgood's stroke

Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm creating this fundraiser for my parents Bob and Kathy Hapgood to help with the medical expenses after my mom's stroke.

As many of you know, mom (Kathy Hapgood) had a stroke on Sunday, December 18th. This was incredibly unexpected. She was flown to Reno on Monday as that was the closest ICU facility with a neurology unit. She had a brain bleed on the right side of her brain. Because there is healthy tissue around the bleed, they decided surgery would not be the best course of action. Cognitively mom is all there. She recognizes everyone and can carry on conversations and answer questions. Mom passed the most critical phase and is now in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation hospital in Reno. She currently does not have use of her left side. We don’t currently have an estimate of when she will be able to come home, but hopefully within a few weeks. Dad is currently staying over there to be with her.

Many people have asked how they can help and if they could donate, so we’ve set up a bank account at US Bank and this go fund me so you can donate as they feel called. There are obvious bills such as medical, hotel, travel, etc., and the not so obvious of remodeling their home to be suitable for wheelchair/walker access and repairing some damage sustained during the earthquake.
