Hello! My name is Jessica. If you’ve made it to this page, you know my father, Michael Tompkins. He’s a one of a kind, hard working, and physically unstoppable man. You’ll likely see him working in the shop, or in town for his Pepsi, dirt on his jeans and bondo on his hands. But if you really know my dad, you know he has a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back. After some recent health issues, he has had more extensive testing and has been diagnosed with lung cancer, though we aren’t positive of the exact stage he is in. Due to the size of the mass in his lung, the doctors have decided they want to start with surgery to remove the mass rather than any chemo or treatment as it has not metastasized to any other part of his body. He is scheduled for a thoracotomy on May 15th in Bangor to have the mass removed. This will decide treatment from there, but we’re praying that will be it. This is going to be a huge financial burden on my father as his primary source of income is through his working hands. I’ve generated this GoFundMe in hopes of reaching out for help. I’m hoping the love my dad has shared throughout the community, will maybe help ease this burden for him. This will help with the expense of travel, lodging, hospital bills and copays, medications, and food until he has recovered and can get back into the shop.
