UPDATE: We are truly grateful to each and every one of you who have shared and donated. Your kindness and generosity are guiding us on our journey to bringing our dear friend home. We want to offer our heartfelt apologies to those who had to learn about this through Facebook. In the midst of our shock, we were focused on understanding the situation and reaching out to her family. Words cannot express the depth of our appreciation for your support in reuniting Michayla with her Mom. Any additional funds collected will be devoted to honoring Michayla with a beautiful urn, burial with a grave marker next to her mother, and a celebration of her life. It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Michayla's passing on the night of July 20, 2024 in Florida. Michayla was a beautiful soul who deeply cherished her friends, and her absence will be profoundly felt. Regrettably, due to her unexpected passing at the young age of 34, arrangements have not been made. At this time we are facing challenges in covering the expenses required to cremate and bring Michayla back home. While we have explored options for local assistance for her cremation, we have been informed that accepting aid from the state/county would result in Michayla's ashes being kept by them, and her final resting place would be in a city cemetery in Florida. Those who had the privilege of knowing Michayla understand that she would have wished to be laid to rest beside her mother, Kit. We kindly ask anyone who held Michayla dear to consider making a donation, if possible. In this time of profound loss, we seek solace in the hope that, with the support of all who cared for her, Michayla can be reunited with her mother in eternal peace. Rest in peace Michayla. We love you, miss you, cherish our friendships, and never forget you.
