Expenses for shot victim in Fort Worth, Texas

Donation protected

Hello,

I am making this fund me in honor of my best friend Cheyenne and her boyfriend Walter. A terrible tragedy happened to them early Saturday morning in downtown Fort Worth. Please help me raise money to help cover missed time from work since he works in the service industry and doesn’t have paid time off and for Cheyenne while she takes time off work to be with him at his bedside while he’s in ICU, medical care, and anything else the family will need during these difficult times. This will be a long process for recovery and I want to make sure him and Cheyenne don’t have to worry about any expenses while they try to heal physically and mentally from this! If you can’t help donate please just send lots of prayers during this time!

Below is the post shared from his mother’s Facebook page…..

“I don’t post much these days but I am posting today to ask for prayer.

First of all I’ll start with Walt is alive and stable. And we need your prayers.

Last night he and his girlfriend were in downtown Ft Worth near Pete’s Piano Bar and Ruth’s Chris walking in the parking lot. Two guys were harassing a couple in front of them and then approached Walt and his girlfriend and her friend. They grabbed his girlfriend and said they were going to take her with them. Walt turned towards them and was saying let her go and back off when one of the guys jumped him from the front and the other hit him on the back of the head with something (probably his pistol) grabbed him from behind and started shooting at him point blank. Again, he’s stable right now.

He’s been shot 5 times. One bullet entered his left forearm shattering that bone. Another bullet hit him behind his knee and exited (causing no damage to his knee and missing all of the arteries running through that entire area) the doctor said unbelievable. Another bullet hit him in the thigh and barely chipped his femur and ricocheted to his low back causing the L5 to shatter. The swelling will have to decrease for them to know what is next for that area. The femur will not require repair. Another bullet hit him at his tailbone area and exited causing no damage to the bones. He has a bullet lodged in his right hip area and another in his back. It’s a miracle that no organs were hit and his spinal cord was missed by a fraction. Truly his worst injury according to the doctors is his left forearm.

Cheyenne made a tourniquet for his arm and clotted the exit wound in his back with a shirt.

Again, he is stable, praise God for His hands on him. He is awake, talking, and in terrible pain. Thank God he’s alive!

He will have surgery on his arm later this morning at 7:15. They will wait for swelling to decrease to determine next steps as far as when if any additional surgery is needed. Obviously, Cheyenne is in shock and completely traumatized.

I believe I’m also in shock. I am sick to my stomach and I feel like my insides are shaky jello. I also feel very numb as I sit and write this, numb and nauseated.

Please pray for Walt. Pray for the doctors and for his body as he goes into surgery today. Pray for a full recovery and for God to work out all of the details of the coming hours, days, weeks and all the time to come, for His glory and purpose.

Please pray for Cheyenne and for the pain that she is experiencing right now.

Pray for Emery and for the fear and sadness she will experience once she knows what has happened.Pray for the details of her care while we go through the next few weeks to be easily handled.

Pray for Mike and I as we navigate the days to come and try to handle what we are going through with grace and wisdom.

The doctors just finished surgery on his forearm and 6 inches of the radius and ulna were crushed so he has a 6”plate in place and now and seems to have full range of motion so this is a huge blessing!

Thank you”
