Expenses for medical stay

Wade, and myself would like to thank everyone for all their support, it truly means so much to us. I thought we’d share a little of what the last few weeks have been like for Mckenna. Early January Mckenna had a really bad flu, near the end of her week long flu she started to develop weird headaches and neck/back pains. Those lasted a bit before her mom felt it needed to be checked out. After a few different drs visits, it was an eye dr who informed mckennas mom that he seen swelling around her optic nerves and inter cranial pressure. After 3 separate er visits in 4 days, being sent home every time, Saskatoon drs finally admitted her into Jim Patterson when they thought they saw a blood clod on her contrast ct. It turned out that wasn’t it, but this was what got her into the care of multiple drs. After many tests nothing has been found that would cause the swelling, but since it wasn’t coming down fast enough the drs decided she would need surgery to help release the pressure. It was urgent to ensure they saved her vision and took pressure off her eyes and brain. She had surgery this morning, and did really well and has been incredibly brave this whole time. We still have no idea what caused this, but they are trying to find out. For right now Mckenna is recovering from the surgery and will see an ophthalmologist again in a few days to see if enough swelling came off, and to check to see if there was any damage done to her eyes. If all looks good at that appointment she will be released.

Earlier Alyssa posted about the surgery, and then it was taken down. I had asked her to hold off on the update until after the surgery so that we could have the full information to post. So if you seen that and wondered why it got deleted, it was just to give us time to gather our thoughts and all the info.
