Hello. If you don’t know me already, my name is Karissa. Last night my 17 year old little sister, Keyonia, was in a major car crash. She is currently heavily sedated at UVM awaiting medical transport to Boston Children’s Hospital for the next couple of weeks as UVM is not equipped or confident enough to perform the necessary surgeries because they are so major. Her jaw is broken (both upper and lower) and needs complete reconstruction, she had a laceration so big near her chin/throat I could see inside of her when she tried to talk or yelp in pain. Her small intestine (which has already been through enough due to previous surgeries for her Crohn's Disease) is now completely severed and further perforated. Her pelvis as well as her spine are fractured. I had to watch my sister scream through multiple doses of fentanyl. She is in so much pain. I have never asked this app for help like this, but we are already at a loss as to how we are even going to foot the bill for the hotel expenses much less the 2-3 major surgeries she’s about to endure in a completely separate state. PLEASE any little bit counts. A SHARE so more people can see counts. The driver was not insured (he’s just a kid so please no negative comments, we don’t blame him. He was not under the influence nor driving erratically. We’ve all been here) so we have no help in this. We appreciate any support. Thank you.
