As many of you know, Red has been battling some health problems over the past year. He has Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, the beginning stages of dementia, and quite a few other things going on. The fluid build up from the CHF has become the biggest issue. It’s become almost impossible to keep it off. Hospice has came in & started care in the home. They have brought in a bed and some other things to help take care of him. This has definitely helped out a lot! They are a Godsend! He has a nurse 2 days a week to come in and check on him & an aide that comes in the 3 days a week to help with bathing. They have told us 6 months, but we all know that only God knows exactly when that time will be. He is still doing pretty good at the moment. He has good and bad days & he has times with the dementia where he becomes a little confused. Daddy now requires 24 hr. care. Unfortunately Hospice doesn’t provide a sitter, I am working with the insurance company now trying to get some home health care approved to have some help some during the days so that I can still work. I created this account with hopes that we can raise money to assist the with any caregiving or other expenses that may be needed, as well his final arrangements.  I will still need to work in order to also care for my own family, all while still trying to be with daddy.  I would love be able to keep him at home as long as possible. These are tough times for everyone involved. If you felt lead to give, please do so. If you can’t give, please still continue to pray for Red and his family during the coming months. He still loves to have visitors, (even though he naps alot!) and you can still send him happy mail, he loves to get cards.
