Expenses for Gary’s motorcycle accident
Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to read our GoFundMe page. We really appreciate all of the support and prayers for my dad over the past week.
This past Sunday October 6th, my dad was in a terrible motorcycle accident. He was coming off the top of an overpass and clipped the backend of an ambulance with the right side of his bike and body. He severely fractured and displaced his femur, tibia, and his forearm. He also shattered vertebrae in his lower back. The trauma surgeon noted that the fractures were some of the worst he had ever seen.
My dad is currently undergoing one of, at least, three surgeries to fix the injuries. He was flown to Albuquerque for surgery and has been at UNM since Sunday evening. He will be at UNM for a few weeks longer, at the least. And will be out of work for the next 6 months to a year, at the least.
As the primary income-earner in the household, my dad will not be able to help my mom with the regular monthly bills for a while. Also, my dad’s employer does not offer medical insurance and he will be left with astronomical medical bills to pay off without assistance. They will need help paying for:
• medical bills including multiple surgeries and an air-lift from Amarillo to UNM
• monthly bills and expenses
• travel expenses for my mom and sister to visit my dad while he is at UNM
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and consider donating to my family.
This is a very stressful time for us, but the support and prayers have been so uplifting. My dad is very broken. At the same time, his lack of head, c-spine, and vital organ related injuries are nothing short of a God-given miracle.
We continue to ask for prayers for my dad’s recovery and a spirit of peace, endurance, and hope for our entire family. In addition, any amount of donation is beyond helpful during this difficult time.
