Expenses for Family Caring for Jacob Hoeg
Donation protected
Hi, I am Ilissa Saginaw. My brother, Jacob Hoeg, was hit by a vehicle early Monday morning on March 11th. On his way into work early in the morning, he witnessed a collision between two vehicles. In his attempt to help, he parked his car, turned on his caution lights, and exited his vehicle to assist those involved. His only question to one of the drivers was “are you okay?” Before he was hit by on oncoming vehicle at approximately 35-40mph. My brother had a life saving surgery to fix the tear in his aortic valve, and has many more surgeries to endure. He likely will have a very long and grueling road to recovery ahead of him. We have had so many positive thoughts, well wishes, and prayers that are so appreciated! I am repeatedly asked what others can do to help out. At this time, an impactful way to show your support would be to provide his partner, Nick, funds for gas (a 40 minute one way drive to the hospital) and food that he eats either on the road or at the hospital. Nick will likely take on most of the home expenses while my brother is unable to work for the foreseeable future. He is already looking to relocate from a third floor apartment (with no elevator) to a ground floor unit that will be more accessible to Jacob when he returns home. Even this small relief of gas, food, and moving expenses may be an impactful way to show support in my brother’s recovery. As always, any well wishes and prayers are a blessing!
