Brent Collins-Sopiwnik severe brain trauma funds

Donation protected
This is incredibly hard and emotionally draining on the family. Brent is is as stable of condition as can be expected in his condition. He has severe brain trauma and we have no answers as to what kind of permanent/long term damage there will be. He is no where close to being out of the woods. All of his family has rallied together and is collectively making decisions for his well-being.

When he arrived a week ago at the hospital he had 2 separate brain bleeds, damage to his brain stem and optical nerve from when his brain shifted during his fall. They had to remove part of his skull to relieve the pressure. He was put in to a medically induced coma to let his body heal. He has tubes placed for drainage, calculating pressure and a feeding tube as well as being on a respirator.

Over the duration of his medically induced coma he has developed a fever, the cause of it is unknown. They have ran tests and cultures to try and pin point the cause. In the mean time they have him on a broad spectrum antibiotic to combat wherever the infection may be spurring from. He has also developed blood clots. There is currently one in his head and as the swelling depletes they are concerned there may be a shift of where it is located and it may cause a stroke. They have him on a low dose of blood thinners. They can't do much more because it may have an adverse effect, since they are not 100% sure all of the other underlying conditions or issues in his head at the moment (such as tears etc.)

As of now they are anticipating Brent will be hospitalized for 8 months to one year minimum. This will not only be an emotionally hard journey for the family, but also financially. He is hospitalized in Medford, Oregon at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center but all of his family is traveling to be by his side from all over the valley. Gas, lodging, food...lost wages are all adding up quickly. There are several restriction in place due to covid (they can't even buy cafeteria food at the hospital). Being very prideful, they are not one to ask for assistance. But after assessing the situation fully and being realistic about the long term situation, at this point they truly don't have any other options. I have started a Go-fund-me account in hopes of collecting enough to get them through this as well as for when he can (hopefully) come home in the future.
