On March of this year, we were overjoyed to learn we were expecting a little one, due December 10, 2025. On July 28th, at our anatomy scan, we found out we were having a baby boy — everything looked perfect.

Then, on August 5, I passed a large blood clot, went to the hospital, all they did was check heart beat and send me home. Saying the uti I had just finished treating probably didn’t clear and to get a urine culture again in 2 weeks. Because my ultrasound looked good at my anatomy scan they said nothing could have changed and did not do another

on August 6th, at exactly 22 weeks pregnant, our world changed. My water broke unexpectedly. At the hospital, we were told there was nothing they could do to save our pregnancy at that stage. I was admitted and started on antibiotics, holding onto hope that I could stay pregnant for a few more weeks, at least. never once did they give steroids for lung development or offer medication to prevent or stop labor.

Tragically, on August 7th at 7:30pm, I delivered our sweet boy, Theo David. Weighing 490g and 30cm long. They sent the placenta to pathology. On the report they found that 30% of my placenta was covered in a blood clot, the placenta, umbilical cord and uterus were all extremely infected. The clot I had passed the day before my water broke could have been a slight placental abruption.

We are heartbroken. This is not the first time I have had to say goodbye to a child — in 2023, I lost my son at 18 months old. Reliving this grief is overwhelming in ways I can’t put into words.

Right now, I am out of work, waiting for my maternity leave to be approved. I am entitled to 15 weeks of paid leave, but I don’t know if I will be ready to return when that time is up. Theo’s dad is using his two weeks of vacation to be by my side, and also work on the grief he has to deal with as well.

We are raising funds to help cover basic living expenses, aftercare funeral home costs, and to relieve some of the financial pressure while we grieve and care for our two other children, ages 10 and 5. Any amount — no matter how small — will help us navigate this incredibly difficult time and give us the space to heal without the added stress of financial strain.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, for sharing, and for supporting our family through this unimaginable loss.

In loving memory of Theo David

i am now currently on ei for 15ish weeks. My spouse has been told by doctors not to return to work due to severe mental health issues. He is waiting to receive ei or some other sort of income.

we are now a 1 income family at 55% of my income. Bills are going unpaid and groceries are needed. Any help would be truly appreciated
