Update:
My beautiful sister passed peacefully. Tue May 24, 2022.
She was surrounded that day by family and friends. We spent hours talking about all the good times we had . We all laughed ,we cried, we hugged and cried somemore. I know my sister left here knowing that she was truly loved by many. Our family greatly appreciates the help , the love ,the prayers from everyone.
Thank you
From the bottom of my heart.

This is my very 1st go fund me. For those who don't know my sister Nicole went into the hospital in Rolla mo Dec 20th 2021 because of covid complications. While there she was diagnosed with covid and pneumonia. At one point we thaught she was doing better and would get to go home but took a turn for the worse ended back in ICU and was put on a vent Jan 2nd. They tried flipping her over that afternoon to help her lungs. Her body didn't react well to that. Her oxygen and blood pressure kept dropping. We thaught we were saying goodbye to her then. But while we were all there she got a little better. They put her on the list for ecmo. On Jan 8th she was sent to St.Lukes in St. Louis. She was kept pretty sedated for the first month and a half. Closer to her second month they lighted it up . The vent she had in was stressing her so they were able to give her oxygen in her nose and set the ecmo machine according to what she needed. Right at the in of her 2nd month they decided still no change to her lungs . They started doing therapy with her in hopes to getting on the list for double lung transplant. This is a very hard list to get on . So they pushed her to hard to fast and her body didn't react well. She just couldn't handle it that fast. (She had been sedated some til maybe a week before therapy started. )Her bmi didn't meet what the standard was and she was on to many pain meds , which they started her on while there. And had controlled what she got in her feeding tube while she was sedated. Long story short they said she missed her chance at getting on the list. Alot has to do with her insurance too. Lung transplant are one of the most extensive organ surgeries. And like I said hard to get on the list. So about a month ago they wanted her to do comfort care. This is where she is made comfortable and put to sleep . Then they will turn off the ecmo machine. She didn't want this she still wanted to fight and keep going. Praying her lungs would heal. And this would give her more time with her family friends . They weren't very happy that we didnt choose comfort care but we wanted to do what she wanted . She still had life to live in her . We have treasured this time with her. About a week ago she got a uti infection. She started to get sepsis. It put a strain on her heart and liver . They had to give her meds to help them both and many other meds. They almost lost her. She has made it through ,but her body hasn't bounced back. It struggles and we don't know how long it would be before things could start to shut down. For the first time she has said that she knows she is dying. She said mentally she wants to be here with us but she said her body is so tired . She wants to go peacefully and not in pain. She has decided to do comfort care. She hasn't picked a day for this yet. She wants a little more time with us but we know it will be sooner then later. We are soaking in all the time we can get with her.
Her wishes are to be cremated when she passes. Her fiance Brian also is still recovering from the after effects of covid. He was hospitalized and died at one point was brought back. He still is very restricted on what he can do at this point he is on oxygen. He has spent many days on the road to be with my sister which gets very expensive . My parents have had un expected expenses comes up . Everyone is struggling right now times are tough things are expensive. I'm setting this up so that we can get Nicole cremated after she passes and so my parents can guardianship of my sister's daughter Kendra. And any other expenses that will come up. I pray for a miracle daily and I would love for onr to happen and her get to stay with us. And if it does this money will be used to cover whatever expenses that would come with therapy and doctor appointments etc... I don't want to make anyone feel pressured but if you can donate that's great. Thank you all for the love thoughts and prayers over all these months.
