Expecting mother, and toddler displaced after disaster!
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Rachelle. I’m a mother to a 4-year-old, and I’m 26 weeks pregnant, welcoming our second child in September. Unfortunately, we experienced a natural disaster on 6/9 when two trees fell onto our beloved home of five years due to high thunderstorm winds. The trees inevitably destroyed the entire left side of the home, and it was deemed uninhabitable. We have been displaced for two nights now. Thankfully, my 4-year-old was spending time with his grandparents at the time of the incident, and I was on the opposite end of the house, so nobody was harmed physically. My husband is active duty military and has been separated from us since October of 2024. Navigating this sudden life change in our circumstances has not and will not be easy. I was advised by members of my community to make this GoFundMe so that those who would like to assist my family are able to do so.
I have reached out to all known resources at this time, including the Red Cross. It’s a process, and I’m still waiting to hear from others.
At this time, immediate support that would be most helpful includes monetary donations to go towards moving costs, security deposits for a new home, application fees, and/or storage units, meals, and buying items for sale from the home that are not damaged to help lighten the load/raise money.
After the heavy rainfall today, multiple rooms in the home began to leak heavily, and I'm worried about the ability of the ceilings to hold up to give us time to move our belongings out. We don’t have anywhere to move them to at this time, and limited funds to do so. I am so grateful for any and all support in all forms. If you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Our goal is to get settled as soon as possible, and lower stress levels as much as reasonably possible to prevent preterm labor. Thank you so much for reading this far.
