When my brother, Michael, found himself in the hospital this past Wednesday, he was certain that he was having a stroke, only for doctors to discover a large mass on his brain. Emergency surgery is scheduled for Monday, 11/23, followed by a 6-8 week recovery. Michael is a husband and a brand new father. He is also the sole provider in the household. Without the ability to work, this unexpected diagnosis and surgery will have a significant impact on Michael’s family.
