Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by.
We’re Brian and Dennis, two longtime friends working to support an under-resourced community in Nepal. Since 2019, we’ve been visiting the country with groups of volunteers to help improve local education and healthcare infrastructure.
Why This School?
The Kakani Brighter School sits on a ridge above the Kathmandu Valley. It currently serves students from Kindergarten through 10th grade, but because of space constraints, they can’t offer classes for the 11th and 12th grade. For many local kids, this lack of space is the final barrier to finishing their education.
A new building with eight classrooms is already more than half-finished. We were there this past October with nine other volunteers, working alongside Nepali masons and carpenters to help it take shape. However, local funding has run out, and work is currently at a standstill.
The Goal
We are looking to raise the remaining funds needed to get the project completed. Our goal is to have the building finished this fall so students can begin using it for the January semester.
How it works
All donations go directly to our partner, the Mother and Children Art Foundation (MCAF), a Nepal-based nonprofit that manages the expansion.
Thank you for considering a donation and for helping these students stay in school.
Best,
Dennis Lewon & Brian Streiffer
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
