Serendipity - Final Year Film Fundraiser

Hi there,

We are currently fundraising for our final year film, which will be called Serendipity. You can read through the main synopsis of our film below:

A story about past, present and future selves and how choices we make in life lead us to one place and one person, focusing on how there's a longing for the future when you live in the present, and how the waiting for the future is a painful process, until it's the future which then becomes the present. The film is set in the present day of Zoey as a young adult, yet follows her through different stages and ages of her life, past, present and future, leading up to when she eventually meets William and we see them fall deeply in love and see their lives together, meeting, getting married, having a family, getting the perfect job etc. until the end of their lives. However, the film will end back in the present when she's alone and none of the events have occurred and she hasn't met William yet. The film will use this almost bittersweet ending to reflect on the idea of fate and that our futures are always waiting and ready for us, but we must learn to take in the present while we are still in this moment, learning to appreciate that everything that is meant for us will fall into place.

We are passionate about bringing this film to life as best as we can, and any donations will help greatly to achieve this. Donations will be put towards costuming, hiring actors/actresses, hiring locations, and many other important factors needed to make the best version of our film.

Meet the crew for our film:

Director/Writer - Jessica Ellis - Jess has the most experience in head of department roles such as directing and producing, as she is confident when leading a team and can easily articulate how she wants to bring her visions to life. When writing the script for Serendipity, Jess was inspired by her own life and experiences and got the idea of Zoey writing letters to her future self from her own letters that she has written to herself in the past.

Producer - Laura Sims - Laura has undertaken many different job roles and departments during her time at Falmouth University - from Cinematography to Directing. Having a wide knowledge of different departments and a love for organisation, she finally felt ready to take on the reigns of a full production, choosing to produce 'Serendipity'.

Cinematographer - Joseph Tombleson - Joe has years of cinematography experience under his belt, having worked as the cinematographer and gaffer on numerous different productions during his time at Falmouth.

Production Designer - Sophie Savva - Sophie has loved production design and bringing sets to life from the beginning of her time at Falmouth. Having worked on numerous different productions as the production designer, Sophie is confident and organised when knowing exactly what makes up each scene.

Editor - Fateh Sehgal - Fateh has numerous years of editing experience from his time at Falmouth. He has made a beautiful edit for our sizzle reel (linked above) which highlights the main themes and feel of our film.

Sound - Joe Hasell - Although Joe is new to the world of sound, he is passionate about learning and broadening his knowledge of the world of sound within film. He is passionate about how sound contributes to the final look and feel of a film, and we are excited to work with him to bring 'Serendipity' to life!
