Exercise Hopton Surge: 5,870 km of Pure Endurance for Mental Health
From 27th February 2025 to 27th March 2025, 22 Signal Regiment embarks on Exercise Hopton Surge—an epic 5,870 km challenge, mirroring the distance from Woolwich Barracks to Muscat, Oman.
As part of Public Duties Reinforcement Company (PDRC) for the King’s Guard, we are pushing our resilience, teamwork, and military spirit to the limit. This static but intense challenge will see us covering the distance through Wattbikes, road running or treadmills, rowers, and ski erg machines—testing our physical and mental endurance every step of the way.
But this is more than just a challenge. We are doing this to raise vital funds and awareness for Head Up, a military mental health charity dedicated to supporting serving personnel and veterans.
Every kilometer brings us closer to our goal: breaking the stigma around mental health in the military. With your support, we can ensure that those who dedicate their lives to service receive the mental health resources they deserve.
This is our mission. Join us, donate, and be part of the journey!
