Hi, my name is Paige and I’m fundraising for help my mum. I would be using the funds to pay for ongoing medical expenses in Kenya for my mum. Once she is well enough to get her back to the UK.

On the morning of Friday the 11th Of July I received a call from Kenya informing me that my Mum Valerie was unconscious and in a critical condition suffering from advanced P. Falciparum which is a deadly variant of Malaria which can cause organ failure.

The medical center my mum was at did not have the necessary equipment to treat her.

We needed to get funds to Kenya to get Valerie transferred by ambulance to another hospital that was a two hour drive away.

On arriving at the Avenue Hospital , we were told that we also needed to pay a large deposit in advance for any treatment.

At this present time my mum is in ICU , she is stable but on Dialysis and needs continued care for the foreseeable future until she is well enough to travel.

Once my mum is able to travel we need to get her to the UK so she can get the treatment and care she needs.
