Excision Surgery Fund

In 2012, I was rushed to an ER from passing out. During that ER trip, I learned that an ovarian cyst had ruptured and that the 'PMS' pain that I was having was a mixture of PCOS and suspected Endometriosis. It would take 2 years of birth controls, pain pills, etc. to be surgically diagnosed with Endometriosis. Since 2014, I have had 3 surgeries, been on countless medicines, lost my uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes and have been bounced from doctor to doctor.

Today, my Endometriosis is, more often than not, debilitating. No, the hysterectomies didn't 'help,' if anything they made things worse by launching my body into menopause at 25 years old, causing irreversible bone density damage and leaving me walking with a cane.

I refuse to let that define who I am. I am a mom, a daughter, a wife and a sister. I am a college educated woman who has fought for years to not allow my disease to define me.

So, I have researched for years who the best doctors are, how to get in touch with them, what the process is to get to see an Excision Specialist (there are fewer than 300 of these in the WORLD!). I turned all of my medical records in for review to a clinic in Atlanta, where one of these incredible surgeons, performs surgeries DAILY! This surgery is unlike any other I have experienced - they take the diseased tissue (from where ever it has attached to) and dig it out like the root system of a plant. I GOT THE PHONE CALL - Dr. Nick Kongoasa is willing to take my case!

But there is a catch - they are out of network for all insurance, due to the constraints insurance companies place on quality of care, and lets be honest - the amount of money they make. Insurance will cover the hospital fees ONLY. I will have to pay out of pocket for the surgeon ($6000), the potential 2 week stay in Atlanta, food, travel from Tulsa, OK to Atlanta, GA and back again, and other unexpected costs that may come up.

That is where you come in - I hate asking for help - but I NEED this surgery, for my health and well-being so that I can be the best person I can be for my family! I would love to chase my kiddos around and not feel out of breath and this surgery has a high chance of making that happen. So, I ask you if you will help me - donate, share my story, whatever way you can help, PLEASE DO!
